Planning permission secured for first #EveryoneEntertained Leisure Venue

Holmes Investment Properties Plc (Berlin: J16), the UK property investment company focused on the leisure sector, is pleased to announce that Everyone Entertained Limited (“EvEnt”), which is majority owned by Holmes Investment Properties Plc, has been granted planning permission by North Tyneside Council for the development of its first #EveryoneEntertained centre in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

Set to open in the second half of 2019, the new #EveryoneEntertained 70,000 sq ft entertainment venue will see the redevelopment of a former health and fitness centre at Royal Quays, and in addition the erection of a steel framed retractable dome which will offer the opportunity for outdoor activity in good weather.

The venue, which will be the first in the UK, will create approx. 80 new local jobs and will offer multiple indoor activities for all ages and groups along with a dynamic food and beverage offering to cater for the range of customers that #EveryoneEntertained will attract.

Set to become an activity and social hub drawing visitors back time and again for days out in the North Shields area, the main building will offer an Active Arcade, Paradrop Virtual Reality Parachuting, Escape Rooms, Laser Tag Arena, Huge Soft Play, Life Size Fun Building Blocks and the centre’s street kitchen café. Inside the dome, visitors will enjoy Dinosaur Adventure Golf, Adult and Junior High Ropes and Climbing Walls.

Situated in an existing popular leisure and retail hub, adjacent to the busy Royal Quays Outlet Centre, the #EveryoneEntertained venue is well-positioned to attract new visitors from the surrounding areas and will be easily accessible both by car, with onsite parking, as well as via a number of public transport options, including two nearby metro stations and several bus stations.

Grant Wright, Managing Director of Everyone Entertained, commented: “We are delighted to have received consent for our first centre in the North East. We believe it will bring an exciting and innovative concept to the local area for everyone to enjoy.

“We now look forward to moving into the next phase of the development of the project and welcoming team members and customers to try our amazing activities when we open our doors later this year.”
